Beach and Snorkeling Tour
Your boat trip starts passing along the coast whilst sipping a non alcoholic cocktail to your first snorkelling stop at Anse Dufour, a typical fisherman's village, with a magnificent white sand beach. Here you can swim and snorkel over shallow pristine coral reefs. Your second snorkelling stop will be at the famous Bat cave where you can watch Angelfish, Parrot Fish and many other fish with their marvellous colours like being in an aquarium. The boat is equipped with a sunroof should you wish to stay on board and admire the scenery. As you sail back enjoy and relax while you sip a well deserved refreshing cocktail.
Martinique Enchanting Gardens
Heading west via the Caribbean coastline, you will pass along little fishing villages before your arrival to this unique Botanical garden created among the ruins of what is believed to be the oldest plantation on the island of Martinique the 'Habitation Anse Latouche'. The master house was built in 1740 with its 'Rue Case Negres' totally destroyed on May 8th 1902 by a volcano eruption. You will be astonished by the wide variety of Cactus and hundreds of other plants and flowers, which over the years have grown to become part of this savage environment. We continue our trip along the Rain Forest road where you will then be pleasantly surprised by our arrival to our second stop the Balata Botanical Garden. This is far more tropical with old trees, tropical plants and flowers in a ferric environment. Please be advised that there are quite a few steps at this stop. Finally we head to the church of Balata, also known as the Church of Montmatre (a mini replica of the one in Paris). Here you will have a wonderful view over the bay of Fort de France and also have the opportunity to take some photographs.
Helicopter Escape in Martinique
Head south via inland roads to the helicopter site at Chateau Gaillard, where your Helicopter will be waiting for you. The duration of the flight is approx 14 mins from where you will enjoy the best views of Martinique from the sky. You will be amazed by the different colours between the coast and the ocean. Pass over the Diamond Rock, a 525ft high volcano situated 3kms from the southwest coast where you will also see some of the nice beaches. Whilst at the Chateau Gaillard you will be able to admire and purchase local arts & crafts, hand made potteries and souvenir items. Also visit the Coffee and Chocolate museums.
Bele Traditional Dancing & Rum Distillery Fun
Head towards the northeast of Martinique via the inland green roads towards 'Bele' House. Here you will enter into a special world having the exceptional opportunity to see the typical Martinique 'Bele' dance, originating from the islands' African & European past. You will be taught the reason behind the dance and how it works. Once this exhibition dance is over you will be given invited to try the dance with the troupe to see how well you do and how much you have understood of the 'Bele'. After the fun you are then invited to have well deserved refreshment before saying goodbye.
A short drive will then bring you to our second place to visit, the St James Rum Distillery. Here you can enjoy the Old Master House belonging to the landowner of days gone by. You will see for yourselves the development of the sugar cane plantation, cultivation and the processing of cane since its introduction and active distillation in Martinique in 1765. On display you will also see the old mills, steam engines and locomotives. Finally you will have the chance to taste the very nice Rum before leaving to head back to the ship.
